This article explains how to configure esuite to connect to different e-learning platforms.
Requirements
Two things are required to do this configuration:
- Admin access to the training catalog in the esuite
- Access to the e-learning platform
Where to configure?
Configuring the connection between the esuite and an e-learning platform is done at the training level. Through Admin > Training > Training Catalog, the relevant training can be searched for. From this screen, the training can be customized by clicking on "Detail."
The settings for e-learning are under "Learning Resource Interoperability."
Configuration
The configuration to connect the esuite to an e-learning platform may differ depending on the platform. For some platforms (Moodle, for example), knowing the URL and secret key is enough. For others (e.g., infoland), the Client Key is also required.
Where to find this information also depends on the e-learning platform. Usually it can be found on the course settings page at "Publish" or "LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability)."
- The URL field should contain the link to the course. This URL should be unique for each course.
- At Client Key comes the information used by the e-learning platform to indicate the client's organization. This is the same for each training course.
-
The Secret Key is a string of characters generated by the e-learning platform. This is used to ensure a secure connection between the esuite and the e-learning platform.
-
The Source for user determines how the e-learning platform can distinguish between different users from one organization. The default is the email address of the user, but other options are also possible.
