Introduction
This article describes how to manage training categories.
Requirements
You must be an administrator within the training module to complete the configuration.
Configuration
1. Permissions
In order to manage the training categories, the following permissions must be checked:
- Training categories (view)
--- Add training category
--- Update training category
--- Delete training category
2. Training categories
In the "Admin" section, you can find the "Training categories" under the section "Training". This section allows you to define the structure of the trainings.
Click on "Add training category" at the top right to create a new category.
The first category you create is always a main category. This means that you cannot fill in the "Parent" field.
The fields you need to fill in to create such a category are:

| Name | Name of the category (with possible translations) |
| Parent | If this category is a subdivision of another category, you can refer to the parent category here. |
| Active | Status van de category |
Usage
As an admin, you can link a category to a training via "Admin > Training > Training catalog".
Users can filter the trainings in the catalog of the training modules by selecting one or more categories.
