This article describes how you can manage leave rules and the impact of the different options available.
Prerequisites
The necessary leave types should be configured first.
Manage leave rules
Using the leave rules, it is possible to combine different leave types so that they should be requested in a certain order.
By adding a leave type to a leave rule, the employee or manager can't select this specific leave type anymore (only via the leave rule).

| Type (per language) | Here you can enter the name of the leave rule per language |
| Code | Unique code to indicate the leave rule |
| Is active | True/False to indicate if this leave rule is still used. |
| Requested in | Indication if this type can be requested in Days or Hours |
| Request limit | Indication if this type should be requested in minimum half a day, minimum a day or a minimum of hours (or no minimum) |
| Minimum number of hours | This field only needs to be filled in if the request limit is set to Minimum number of hours (and Request in to Hours) |
Below these fields the administrator can add leave types with the same value as selected in "Requested in". Also, the order can be defined. The application will use this order to determine which counters per employee will be used first.
